I put a handful of custom sliders back in, made sure they worked, saved, quit and added the rest. Then I opened CMar's XCAS tuning file (not the X3, she provides one for 50 sliders and one for 100 either of which can be used in addition to the multiplier one) in S3PE and changed the max allowed to 250, to agree with my MC setting. What I ended doing is removing all custom sliders and started up/saved a test game. It seems that MC's Override Custom Core setting is not being honored as well as I once thought. It's not the sliders themselves, at least in my case. One by one, starting with chins and then jaws, cheeckbones, ears, entire categories of sliders would either not have any effect on the sim being edited, would not hold their values after leaving CAS, or both.Īfter trying various things that had no impact, including shaking my fist menacingly at my computer several times and threatening to have a temper tantrum, I found a solution that worked. My existing sims in-game were fine, but neither they nor any new ones could be edited properly.
And now, over four months later, my punishment for not fully understanding what was happening here is that I added some new sliders and ended up in a similar place.
